ACADIA NATIONAL PARK
Bar Harbor, ME

One of the gems of the National Park System, Maine’s Acadia National Park combines dramatic natural scenery with landmark landscape design. The Park’s roads, stone bridges, and carriage trails came about through a rare blend of private funding for public works. Financed by John D. Rockefeller, Jr., championed by Park Superintendent George B. Dorr, and designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the park’s road system makes it possible for millions of visitors to enjoy Mt. Desert Island each season.

Heather Lindquist wrote a series of new exhibits at Acadia’s Thunder Hole, Jordan Pond, and Cadillac Mountain concessions, working closely with designer Krister Olmon, Inc., and fabricator Southern Custom Exhibits.
