The POW Museum at Andersonville, Georgia, tells the poignant
story of American soldiers and civilians taken captive
throughout our nation’s history, from the French
and Indian Wars to the Gulf War. The museum—located
at the site of the Civil War’s most notorious
prison camp—looks at what happens to the human
spirit when liberty is denied.
As a researcher and writer for
BHA Design, Heather Lindquist researched original source
material at numerous archives, including Hoover Institute,
Air Force Academy, National Archives, and various military
museums, and assembled a tracking database in Filemaker
(before this was “standard
issue” from Harpers Ferry!). She wrote all exhibit
text, and collaborated closely with curators, designers,
detailers, and planners. |
